Composite decking boards

Wood-plastic composite consists of two components, wood dust and plastic, plus additives that regulate the properties of the material. This makes wood-plastic composites (WPC) fire-resistant, long-lasting, moisture- and frost-resistant, and resistant to mould and fungus. The boards do not fade in the sun and are not threatened by wood pests.

Even damp or rain-wet composite decking boards are not slippery; they do not deform or crack, and the surface stays smooth, so you can walk barefoot without the risk of getting a splinter. Fixings such as installation clips and screws are not visible. Because of these properties, the material costs considerably more than wood. However, the price of composite products should be compared with wood on the basis of how long they last. With ordinary wood you also have to allow for the costs of maintenance, painting and replacing the material.
