Transition profiles: how to join two floor coverings
A transition profile joins two floor coverings: for example the vinyl floor in the kitchen and the laminate in the living room, or parquet and tiles in a doorway. It covers the joint, protects the edge of the floor covering and makes the transition safe.
When you need a transition profile
- Between two different floor coverings, for example parquet and tiles.
- When the floor coverings are different heights. There are profiles that even out the height difference.
- In a doorway, where a floating floor needs room to move.
How to choose the right one
- By colour. The transition profiles at Põrandakeskus are from Quick-Step. They are designed to match Quick-Step floors in colour, height and function. If your floor is Quick-Step laminate or parquet, you will find a matching profile in the same series.
- By height. Measure the thickness of both floor coverings.
- By opening width. Measure the width of the doorway so the profile covers the whole transition.
Põrandakeskus has 86 transition profiles.
Don't forget
- Skirting boards, internal corner mouldings and stair solutions are in the same range: skirting, stairs and accessories.
- If you order installation from Põrandakeskus, the installer can fit the profiles too.
