Linoleum or PVC flooring: the differences and how to choose
Linoleum and PVC flooring are both durable resilient floor coverings, and they are often confused. The main difference is the material: linoleum is made from natural materials, while PVC is synthetic and especially moisture resistant.
Linoleum
Linoleum is made from linseed oil, wood flour, resin and jute. That makes it a healthy and sustainable choice. Linoleum is resilient, hard-wearing and easy to maintain. Põrandakeskus has more than 200 linoleums in a wide range of colours and patterns.
Linoleum suits both homes and public spaces: schools, offices and hospitals.
PVC flooring
PVC flooring is moisture resistant, easy to clean and long-lasting. At Põrandakeskus, PVC floors are grouped by use:
- PVC floor coverings: more than 800 products for homes and commercial spaces
- Acoustic PVC: more than 500 products that reduce footstep noise in apartments, offices and public spaces
- Wet room PVC flooring: for bathrooms and kitchens
- Anti-slip safety floors: for example IVC Isafe 70 with slip resistance R12, for shops, schools, hospitals and commercial kitchens
- Static dissipative and conductive PVC: protect sensitive equipment from static electricity
